Suitable for educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

You will learn:

The knowledge and skills to provide first aid to infants, children, and adults.

Pre-requisites: A USI number which is easy to apply for one at www.usi.gov.auYou must have completed the pre-course online homework. The link for this will be sent to you after you register for the course. You must email or take the completed paper with you to the training course.

 

Course Requirements:

It is a requirement of this course that you are physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on a CPR manikin placed on the floor.

  • Pen
  • Form of identification
  • Completed pre-course online certificate
  • Wear comfortable, modest clothes and shoes

 

Course duration: 7 hrs

 

Award issued:

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:

  • HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting

 

Recertification Requirements:

It is recommended this unit be renewed every 3 years in line with industry standards

 

This unit of competency has been approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements of “First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis”.
