Nikon D7100 is a high performance compact DSLR camera, incorporating lightweight and durable profile with magnesium alloy top and rear covers. Weather sealing is integrated its design to prevent dust and moisture damage in harsh environments. It sports a 3.2-inch 1229k-dot TFT-color LCD and pentaprism optical viewfinder. The LCD provides 100% coverage for accurate playback and live view composition and viewfinder features an OLED display element for clear reading of the cameras settings without removing your eye from the finder.

As far as the hardware is concerned, this camera comes with 24.1MP DX-format CMOS sensor and EXPEED 3 image processor. In this combination the SMOS sensor provides superior images with accurate colors, maximizes its resolution for exceptionally sharp details and the processor enables stable, high-speed response, including a continuous shooting speed of up to 6 frames per second. The D7100 is designed without the optical low-pass filter which allows the sensor to capture images with exceptional sharpness and detail. It includes a 51-point focus area with 15 cross-type sensors for detecting both vertical and horizontal variations to achieve fast, precise focus. The ISO sensitivity range can expands to a 25600 and benefits low-light, sharp and detailed photography with less noise and fast-moving subjects are captured with more accuracy and less blur.

Included with the camera body is the wide-angle to telephoto zoom 18-105mm lens which provides 35mm equivalent focal range of 27-157.5mm. It features one aspherical element and one extra-low dispersion element are to minimize aberrations and optimize image sharpness and an SWM autofocus mechanism is used to provide focus quickly, silently and accurately.
