Canon XF405 Professional 4K Camcorder is a high-spec and high-end Full HD flash memory camcorder. It is an upgraded version of the XF400 and is made for over the air broadcasts, cable and satellite TV. This professional camcorder is file-based MPEG-2 supported and boasts a powerful 1.0-inch 8.29 Megapixel CMOS image sensor with 2ch PCM digital audio recording.

The camcorder flaunts a large 3.5-inch LCD with 100 percent field of view and 1,560,000-dot resolution. The screen is rotate-able and can be opened at both sides of the camera body. It also offers up to 35-degree forward movement for comfortable view. A high-resolution Electronic View Finder 0.24-inch in size and with 1,560,000-dot resolution gives 100 percent view coverage and offers adjustable brightness, contrast and backlight.

The sensor runs on DIGIC DV image processor that includes face detection technology. A built-in Canon 15x HD Zoom lens is part of the body construction with 25.5mm-382.5mm focal length. It offers 15x HD zoom and a aperture of f2.8-f4.5.
